The weekends are often full of fun and adventure for families from all walks of life. Sometimes however injuries and illness usually happen on a weekend when your doctor's office is closed. This is when you can get help from Urgent Care Mobile AL.

To know whether or not a condition is an emergency, assess whether the person is conscious and breathing and that they can respond to you. If this is not the case then you need to take them to the emergency room in your area. If it is an injury such as a sprain or strain or other injury as with moderate back pain and you need attention that can't wait over the weekend, take them to an urgent care center.

Many medical conditions can be taken care of in these types of clinics. These medical facilities deal with everyday injuries and illness usually over weekends and holidays and at night. They are open when you family doctor is not available.

These types of medical facilities for otherwise non emergency conditions are equipped only to deal with mild to moderate medical conditions. They may prescribe or treat the condition and give you instructions to follow upon your return home. They will determine if the condition warrants further treatment and will send you to another medical facility or the ER if they find your condition to be life threatening.

If you have an illness or injury that does not impair the ability to communicate or move then you should seek help from the urgent care clinic. This can include things like a broken toe or finger, a strain or sprain or flu and fever. These conditions can be treated with simple medical procedures. Others which are life threatening require extensive medical treatment in an ER.

If you can always be aware of where your urgent centers are in your area. This will save time if you need to drive to one in the event it is needed. These facilities are open on the weekends, holidays, at night and other times when you can't see your family doctor.

You should not use an emergency room if your condition is not life threatening. Doing so creates a risk to other patients who really need emergency attention and this takes away from the staffing for that attention. If it is a non-life threatening condition always use an urgent center for treatment or your family doctor if they are available.

Always assess whether the condition is life threatening such as with loss of consciousness, no breathing, chest pains, or confusion take the person to the ER. Anyone who is having a medical or health condition that is causing them trouble needs medical attention as soon as possible. Always take precautions with your health and well being and get help when you need it right away.
