A gorgeous bronze tone on the skin can help to boost your confidence as well as leave you looking your best, it has the tendency to take years off, as well as assume good health. However, it is sometimes disappointing if your DIY tan has turned miserably wrong. It is important to have an inkling of how to remove sunless tanner in case of such an occasion.

Be sure to remind yourself that a self-tanner only affects the top layer of the skin, and can therefore be lightened or removed cleverly. There are a few home remedies which can speed up this process quite well. They are easily attainable, and in fact, usually kept in all homes most of the time.

If you feel you have used the incorrect shade or tone for your skin and would like to decrease the intensity of the color immediately, there are a few things you could try. The quicker you realize your mistake, the easier the product will fade when just applied. Don't panic though, try to stay calm and focused on the task at hand.

A quick remedy to try if the entire body needs to be lightened is to take a hot bath and soak in it for as long as possible. Try adding a little gentle bleach such as baking soda (nothing else) to have an overall lightening effect. Whilst in the bath, you could also try an exfoliating product such as sugar scrub to lift the outer most layer of the skin, safely.

Repeat this process daily for a more rapid result. Baby oil, also helps tremendously, even if it is more cumbersome. Slather it onto the skin, and allow it to absorb for a good 10 minutes, where after you can shower and exfoliate generously.

If the problem is only on the palms or the feet, or perhaps you have a visible streak, then lemon juice is wonderful natural bleach, which is gentle and safe. It can also be combined with baking soda, to form a paste and applied to the skin, where you will gently rub the affected areas to eliminate any unwanted color. Repeat as often as you feel your skin can handle it, and be as moderate as you possibly can.

Toothpaste, that has the whitening agents in it, is a wonderful product to use. It is powerful and can eliminate any unwanted orange palms quickly and efficiently. Acetone also works wonders, but is rather drying and harsh on the skin. If you feel you would like to try it, then only use it in small measured amounts with a soft cotton wool pad. If all else fails, keep exfoliating kindly, and remember to moisturize continuously.

Be vigilant about your home tan, and choose a reputable product, with great reviews for the best results. Do your homework well, and select the shade and depth suited to your taste. If you are armed with knowledge and later experience, there should be no reason why anything could go wrong. Only the benefit of sunless tanning, and all that it entails, such as a beautiful bronzed skin and the confidence that goes along with that!
